Projects and Remembering Mama Goat

I thought it about time I add some of the new stuff I've been working on. This is the new quilt for our bed. It's just the top, I'm trying to locate some Warm & Natural batting, but having a heck of a time finding the right size here in town. I plan on just tying at the corners and the middle of the 4 patch/big squares with a tan embroidery floss.
Grace requested a scarf and she picked out the yarn. This is the scarf that was produced. Here is the pattern. Of course, now she won't wear it...but she won't let me wear it either. I thought it would come in handy with this bitter cold weather....maybe in a couple of years....
And this little gem I made or a gal at work as a surprise Christmas present. I previously made this pattern, see this post. One of my other friends bought the fabric to make herself the same purse and the other gal fell in love with it. We decided she'd donate the fabric and I'd donate my sewing skills. I so love this batik! I even had enough left over to make one side of the organizer to match....Merry Christmas, Linda! And thanks Heidi for donated such "fugly" fabric.

Jeremy texted me today to say that he found Mama Goat dead in their goat house. We were told by the vet a year ago that she was pretty old. We had noticed recently that she looked...thinner, worn down. And with this bitter cold weather we're having, I think it finally took it's toll. Because there's no way we can dig a hole this time of year, Jeremy took her out and put her near a fence away from the house. Now Tiny Goat is a loner. Here's to you Mama Goat!
