a blog about me and my family, the menagerie of animals we have, and the crafts I make.

Menu Planning
Way back in the beginning of the year, one of my goals was to do some menu planning for the week. I have been doing it off and on, but I thought I'd give you a taste of what we're eating next week.
Saturday
Baked potato soup, breadsticks
Sunday
Goulash, jello
The rest are in no particular order, whatever sounds good that morning. The specific ones are ones that I can make in advance so Jeremy has something for lunch that night at work. Tuesday nights are swim lessons, so we get fast food afterwards.
Pineapple Chicken, rice, veggies
Garlic Salmon with parmesan rice (don't get excited, it's Rice a Roni), veggies
Pork Chops, stove top mac-n-cheese (this one is homemade though), veggies
Bacon & chicken quesadillas with sour cream and guacamole
News...But No Pictures
I always seem to manage to have fun things to blog about but no pictures to go with it....so boring wordy blog with no pictures time.
Last Friday we went down to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. We probably only went through half of the exhibits, and we were worn out! With the girls there was no reading and pondering, if was look at the display, move on to the next one.... I think the thing that was the most impressive was the size of some of the seals and the walrus. I swear that male walrus was the size of a big ol' Alaskan grizzly bear, it was huge!! I did manage not to get us lost in Denver. If Jeremy would have drove, the girls would have learned some colorful new language, I'm sure.
Then we went to Douglas for Easter. The girls brought home quite the bounty. There was an Easter egg hunt in Grandma and Grandpa's front yard and all the girls went to see the movie Hop at the theater in town. We even had an Easter pinata that the little girls all got a whack at.
I think the biggest news of all is that we are gonna have a girl! We had an ultrasound on Wednesday and baby is looking good. All the measurements are where they should be and body parts are in the right places. Jeremy is gonna be sorely outnumbered with 3 little girls in the house. He also mentioned they will all be teenagers at the same time....oh boy! Now for the arduous task of choosing a name. Baby was squirming around so we only got a few pictures. I plan on scanning them in and getting them posted this weekend.

More New Stuff
What's up with this? This one wasn't planned, it just...happened.
Jeremy saw her on craiglist and called. The owner was to have some brain surgery and would no longer be able to care for her and Jeremy's always wanted a rat terrier. Her name is Roxie. She's VERY timid and anxious, she did finally calm down after I was able to get a hold of her last night. And she sat on the couch with me. Clyde, who is smaller than her, seems like she's always been a fixture in the house, laid down right next to her. I think we'll need lots of patience as we think she may have been beat at some point in her life....she was a "foster" dog, so who knows her background. She's about a year and a half old. And Jeremy also brought these home from the same place he got Roxie....
What the heck am I gonna do with 7 goose eggs?
Speaking of Clyde, he had a little procedure about a week ago and has been wearing a silly Elizabethan collar. We decided to take it off this morning....he just looked pitiful and he seems to be healing just fine.

New...New...New
It seems we've been adding some new things to our life in the last week. The big one....
The VW bug engine was on the verge of retirement and we had decided it was time to go, especially since I can't fit 3 car seats in it. This is the new ride, a 2008 Ford Taurus X. It's got 3 rows of seats and Jeremy fits and it's way easy to get Anna in to. The coolest part, an automatic rear lift gate!
The next new thing is this....
Clyde needed somebody to play with....right?! Right! We adopted Shadow from the Animal Shelter and had to wait until she was spayed before we could bring her home, so we got to bring her home on Saturday.
