Another Baby!

Quincy Eugene made her way into this world on March 24.
Look at her cheekies!  I hear mom and baby are doing just fine.  Congrats to Jason and Andi!

Oil Rig

This has been the view outside our back door and to the south for about 3 weeks now.  Yup, they're drilling for oil...less than 1/2 mile away. It hasn't been as noisy as I thought it would be; the interstate is way noisier.

Whipping 'Em Out

Oh, about a year ago Anna was promoted to a big girl bed, so I needed to make a quilt to go on it.  Well, I'd started that quilt about then, remember here and here?  I have *finally* finished it!  I'm super speedy on that, eh?

I also finished a pair of socks that had been lying around for some time.  I did the heels different, just to decide which one I like more.  I know which one I like to knit more, but the jury's still out on which one feels better when you wear it.
You'll be happy to know that the yellow fruit from was a canary melon, very similar to a honeydew.  And I gave one of the cabbages to a friend who was planning on juicing it.  I sure hope he adds some other juices with it, I can image cabbage juice isn't very pleasant all by itself.

Kaylee's Sweater

I got a picture the other day of my newest niece in the sweater I made for her.  Check it out.
Again, it warms my heart to have my handknits worn!

I also hear that we are on baby watch for the last Yearout baby to be born in the pack.  My sister-in-law went in to the hospital today...I find it ironic that I mailed off that baby sweater just this week.

Apples

Cheyenne has *Finally* got a Bountiful Baskets site.  This week there was loads of good stuff, check it out.
If anybody knows what that yellowish thing in the back center is, lemme know, will ya?  I think it's some sort of fruit as it was with the rest of the fruit.  I also need some ideas for cabbage, there's 2 heads in there.  I also split a box of apples with one of my friends.  Then I did this yesterday.

I figured I peeled, cored and sliced 40 apples to get 2 quarts of chunky applesauce and 6 pints of apples with cinnamon.  Today my wrists and neck hurts...*whine, whine, complain, complain*  I still have around 30 apples to do something with...any suggestions?  I know they'll go bad before we can eat all of them.

Oh, and Happy Birthday to my mother-in-law....Happy 35th, Deb!  hehe

The "Pox"

Yes indeed, Anna has the chicken pox.  How ironic that Jeremy's home with a broken hand and can stay home with her.  We're trying to expose Grace so she gets them as well and keep Leah away from both of them.  Since Anna was vaccinated for chicken pox, her case is pretty mild.  Just a few blisters here and there and she's acting like her normal self, so it's hard to think of her as sick.  Grace has been vaccinated as well and Leah's too small to get vaccinated for that yet.
This is one of the professional pics we had done.  I'll be sending some out to grandparents, etc., here pretty soon and put a few on the blog as well.

Bibs

Where have I been?  Nowhere really, there's just been nothing to blog about.  Jeremy has a new cast as the pink one was getting loose.  They also x-rayed again so they took the old one off.  His new one is hunter orange.

Have you heard of pinterest?  It's this awesome website that has a whole bunch of stuff on it.  I like to peruse the crafty section, imagine that.  I found this bib and did a test run.  It has full coverage and doesn't turn around like the usual ones.  So then I had to bust out 3 more.  The picture doesn't show very well how there's "arm holes" and it ties in the back.  Click on the link to see better pics of it's construction.  I can whip one out pretty quick.
I also finished a pair of socks.

Brussels Sprouts

They finally brought a Bountiful Baskets to Cheyenne.  One of the things among the produce was a bunch of brussels sprouts.  Never having had them, I found a recipe.  It includes bacon, everything's better with bacon.
Grace wasn't too fond of them, but Jeremy gobbled them up (Anna was indifferent).
It's kinda fun figuring out how to use some of the produce that I wouldn't usually buy.

There was also some mangos, peppers, a cantaloupe, apples, cucumbers, lettuce, bananas, and a pineapple.
